Cookie policy

Version 2.0 (draft), valid from 1 November 2026.

About this policy

This page explains which cookies and similar technologies sensepeek.com uses, what they do, and how you choose which ones we may use. For how we handle personal data in general, read our Privacy policy.

1. What cookies and similar technologies are

  • Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They let the website remember something between pages or visits, for example what is in your cart.
  • Local storage and session storage are places in your browser where a website can save data. They work much like cookies.
  • Pixels are tiny images in a web page or an email. When they load, the sender learns that the page or email was opened.
  • Scripts can also read information from your device, for example the size of your screen.

In this policy, “cookies” means all of these.

Some cookies are set by us (first-party cookies). Others are set by another company whose service we use on our website (third-party cookies). Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Other cookies stay until they expire or you delete them.

3. Your choices

  • On your first visit you see our cookie banner. You can accept all cookies (“Accept”), refuse all cookies except the functional ones (“Deny”), or choose categories (“View preferences”). Accepting and refusing are equally easy.
  • Change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. You find it in the Legal section of the footer, together with Terms and conditions, Privacy policy, Cookie policy and Accessibility statement. It opens your cookie choices again. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it. When you withdraw consent, we stop using those cookies: the scripts that set and read them no longer run. Cookies they set before stay in your browser until they expire (see the lifetimes in section 5), but our website no longer uses them. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings.
  • How long we remember your choice: 12 months. Then we ask again.
  • Privacy signals from your browser: if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we treat it as a refusal. You do not see the banner, and only functional cookies are used.
  • Browser settings: you can also delete or block cookies in your browser. If you block functional cookies, the cart and checkout do not work.

If you say no, you can still use the whole website and shop. We then do not use Google Analytics or order attribution, and embedded videos show a placeholder until you accept marketing cookies.

4. The categories we use

6. Statistics without cookies: Plausible

We use Plausible to count visits for every visitor. Plausible sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It does not follow you across websites and does not build a profile of you.

When a page loads, Plausible receives the address of the page, the website you came from, your browser, operating system and device type, and your country or region. To count unique visitors for one day, it combines your IP address and browser details into a random code that changes every day. It does not store your IP address. Plausible keeps the data in the EU, on servers in Germany and Finland.

We use Plausible without asking for consent, based on our legitimate interest in knowing how our website is used. Read more in section 3.7 of our Privacy policy. You can object at any time by writing to us.

7. The payment page (Nexi)

When you pay with Nexi Checkout, Nexi’s payment form is shown in our checkout. Nexi sets cookies there that are needed for the payment and to prevent fraud, and, if you choose to save your details with Nexi, to recognise your device. Nexi is responsible for them: see Nexi’s privacy notice for the checkout.

The same applies when you pay with PayPal, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Nexi, and when your bank shows a 3-D Secure page to confirm the payment.

9. The “Need a hand?” contact form

The “Need a hand?” button on our Contact us page opens our customer service contact form, provided by our customer service tool Help Scout (Help Scout PBC, USA). It is not used for marketing.

How it works:

  • Only on the Contact us page. No other page of our website loads anything from Help Scout or shows the button.
  • When the Contact us page loads, before you click anything, our website loads the button from Help Scout’s servers (beacon-v2.helpscout.net and d3hb14vkzrxvla.cloudfront.net). Help Scout then receives your IP address, technical details about your browser and device, and the page you are on. Help Scout also writes an item in your browser’s local storage (hs-beacon-[id]-shown-animation) to remember that the button’s opening animation has been shown.
  • When you open the form, Help Scout’s button keeps the form’s state, and a message you have started, in your browser’s local and session storage (section 5), and loads its fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com), which then receives your IP address.
  • When you send a message, Help Scout receives what you enter: your name, email address, subject, message and any attachments. We then answer you from Help Scout.

You open the Contact us page to contact us, so the button there is in the Functional category and is loaded without asking for your consent. How we use the data, and the transfer to the USA, are described in sections 3.5 and 5 of our Privacy policy.

10. Emails

The emails the shop sends about your order do not track whether you open them or click links.

Our newsletter records whether you open it and which links you click, so that we can see what interests our readers. You can stop this by unsubscribing, or by blocking images in your email program.

11. Questions and changes

If you have questions about cookies, contact us: see Contact us. Our full contact details are also in the Privacy policy.

We update this policy when we change the cookies we use. The version and date at the top show when it last changed.
