MMCX adapters

The shortest possible ground path, straight to an MMCX connector

Some measurements are decided by the ground path. On a power supply rail or an analog stage, a ground lead of a few centimetres picks up enough noise to hide the ripple you are looking for. The new MMCX adapters connect the probe signal and ground directly to an MMCX connector on the PCB, so the ground path becomes as short as it can be and the noise pickup almost disappears.

Mount the adapter on the probe tip, plug it into the MMCX connector on your board, and measure.

Three adapters, one for each probe family:

  • Oscilloscope probe MMCX adaptor (PCBITE-7020) for the SQ100, SQ200, SQ350 and SQ500, at their full rated bandwidth
  • Probe MMCX adaptor 3.5 mm (PCBITE-7021) for the SQG15 and SQG30. The SQG15 keeps its full 1.5 GHz; on the SQG30 the bandwidth becomes about 2.6 GHz
  • Probe MMCX adaptor 5.0 mm (PCBITE-7022) for the SQG60

See the handsfree probes and the SQG high-frequency probes.
