The SQB1 is a passive, bidirectional 1:1 probe made for I3C. Its total capacitive load stays under 41 pF at 12.5 MHz, within the 50 pF the I3C specification allows, so it can stay on a running bus while you debug it. Connect both the clock and the data line with an SQB1.
It was commissioned by Binho and developed together with them for the Binho Supernova host adapter, and it connects to Saleae Logic too. Binho stocks it and sells it directly as an approved accessory.
The spring-loaded signal and ground contacts press with only 60 to 100 g, where a rigid probe presses with 400 g to 1 kg, so the board is loaded less and you feel when the needle makes contact. Like our other SQ probes it has an insulated grip for handheld use, and its magnetic probe holder keeps it handsfree on a PCBite base plate: place the needle on a test point or a component lead and let go, with no wires to solder. It takes the same accessories as our oscilloscope probes.
Bandwidth from DC to over 100 MHz in one direction and over 13 MHz bidirectionally, 100 Ω at the tip, a 0.8 m cable with an MMCX connector, CAT 0. The SQB1 is made for digital serial interfaces such as I3C and I2C, not for analog measurements.
Binho sells it in the Binho I3C Handsfree Probe Pack: two SQB1 probes for SCL and SDA, two SQ10 probes for power and ground, ground accessories, cable holders and adapter boards for the Supernova and Saleae Logic. The pack has no base plate or PCB holders, so it suits a bench that already has a PCBite kit. Use Buy at Binho to order it.
