Laptop repair at component level, from fault-finding to retest
James Hoggett runs JFIXX, a UK channel about component-level repair of modern laptops. In this video he hunts for a fault on an ASUS TUF laptop motherboard held in PCBite holders, with handsfree probes on its test points. He calls the probe system “absolutely fantastic”.
In his repairs the board stays in the same holders from start to finish: probing PWM signals and power rails while it starts up, replacing components with hot air, inspecting the joints under the microscope and powering it up again on the same test points. See our kits for mixed signal oscilloscopes.
