Introduction

Spare ground springs for PCBite SQ oscilloscope probes. A short ground path for handheld measurements at the full rated bandwidth.

Five ground springs for the PCBite SQ100, SQ200, SQ350 and SQ500 oscilloscope probes. The ground spring mounts on the probe tip and gives a short ground path for handheld measurements at the full rated bandwidth.

Compared with a long ground lead, the short ground path reduces loop inductance and improves signal integrity. Place the signal needle on the test point and the ground spring on a nearby ground.

Each SQ oscilloscope probe is delivered with one ground spring for handheld use and one ground spring needle for handsfree measurements. Keep spares at hand to replace a bent or lost spring.

GROUND PATH

Every millimeter counts.

Each millimeter of ground lead adds approximately 1 nH of inductance, which makes the measurement more sensitive to switching noise and ringing. The ground spring replaces the long lead with a connection right at the probe tip, so ripple and fast edges look the way they really are on the board.
