Set the spring-loaded test needle on the signal and the spring-loaded ground needle beside it, then let go. The flexible arm keeps the probe in place and the N52 neodymium magnet holds the base to the PCBite base plate. The SQ350 is a passive 10:1 probe with a bandwidth of 350 MHz and 10 MΩ and 11 pF at the tip, and its BNC connector has a probe ID pin, so compatible oscilloscopes switch to 10:1 scaling on their own.
With 350 MHz of bandwidth, the probe suits fast logic edges, clock signals and switching nodes in power converters. It stays on the test point through long triggering sessions, can be lifted out for handheld use thanks to its insulated body, and is compensated to oscilloscope inputs from 8 pF to 27 pF with the included adjustment tool.
For grounding, the ground spring needle keeps the ground path short in handsfree use and the ground spring does the same handheld, both at the full rated bandwidth. A test hook, an alligator clip and ground leads with 2.54 mm (0.100 in) jumper connectors, often called Dupont connectors, reach ground points further away, and color coded cable holders in four channel colors keep each channel easy to trace.
The SQ350 is designed to IEC 61010-031 and rated CAT II 300 V RMS with the finger protection mounted. A PCBite base plate and holders are required for handsfree use.
