High-frequency probe accessories

High-frequency probe accessories for PCBite SQG15, SQG30 and SQG60 probes keep the ground connection short and the tip contact reliable at frequencies up to 6 GHz. Each part is sized to the diameter of the probe head, 3.5 mm (0.14 in) on the SQG15 and SQG30 and 5 mm (0.20 in) on the SQG60. Dual ground spring needles place a ground pin on each side of the signal tip, 2.3 mm (0.09 in) from the signal on the SQG15 and SQG30 and 3 mm (0.12 in) on the SQG60, which matches PCB-mounted RF connectors and closely spaced test points. When the ground point is further away, the single ground spring for the SQG15 and SQG30 has a 6.5 mm (0.26 in) pitch and a bandwidth of 1.5 GHz on the SQG15 and 2 GHz on the SQG30. Replacement probe tip needles fit every SQG model and are fine-pitch and spring-loaded, so a worn tip can be swapped and the probe keeps reliable contact on small and delicate components. The MMCX adapter connects the probe to an MMCX connector mounted on the board, so signal and ground meet in a coaxial connection. This gives repeatable, low-noise measurements at a fixed point, for example on power rails and other noise-sensitive circuits. The range also includes tip protection caps for the SQG15 and SQG30, color-coded cable holders and replacement glide pads that let the probe holder slide smoothly on the base plate.
