Introduction

Insulation for the PCBite L base plate. Add it to an earlier base plate without a cover or replace a worn one, for safe work on powered PCBs and less glare under the microscope.

The large insulation cover fits the PCBite L base plate, 297 × 210 mm (11.69 × 8.27 in, A4). Use it to add insulation to an earlier PCBite base plate without a pre-fitted cover, or to replace a worn cover on a current one.

The non-conductive polycarbonate keeps powered PCBs from shorting against the metal surface, with no tape or improvised insulation needed. Its anti-reflective finish reduces glare from microscope lighting, which makes small PCBs and fine-pitch components easier to see under magnification.

The cover is 1 mm (0.04 in) thick and attaches with a strong adhesive. Peel off the backing and place it on the base plate. Installation instructions are included.

All current PCBite base plates in sizes XS, S, L and XL come with a pre-fitted insulation cover. The base plate is sold separately.

Powered PCB held by two PCBite holders with yellow insulation washers, probed with red and black probes in front of a bench supply.
DESIGNED FOR POWER

Power up your PCB safely.

The polycarbonate cover turns the steel base plate into a non-conductive work surface. Power up a board, probe it and leave it running without the risk of a short against the metal.

MICROSCOPE WORK

Less reflection. More detail.

The matte surface reduces reflections from microscope lighting, so components and fine details stand out with clear contrast.

HEAT RESISTANT

Handles the heat of the lab.

The polycarbonate cover is rated from −40 to +120 °C (−40 to +248 °F). Mounted on the base plate, it handles even higher temperatures, because the steel plate works as a heat sink and draws the heat away. Solder and use a heat gun with confidence.

UPGRADE

Add insulation. Keep the magnetic grip.

The cover is only 1 mm (0.04 in) thick, so the magnetic grip stays strong. Every PCBite holder, probe and accessory locks firmly to the plate, and your setup works exactly as before, now on an insulated surface.
