Introduction

These four handsfree SP10 probes expand your existing PCBite setup. Position each probe on the signals you need and monitor them with your logic analyzer, multimeter or debug adapter while keeping both hands free.

Place the spring-loaded needle on any test point in the signal path and release. The flexible arm holds the needle in position, while the N52 neodymium magnet in the base keeps the probe locked to the base plate. No soldered wires and no fixtures.

The 2.54 mm (0.100 in) dual pin header accepts two cables at the same time, enabling simultaneous power and measurement or signal pass through to another probe.

Color coded test wires with 2.54 mm (0.100 in) jumper connectors are included for direct connection to logic analyzers, multimeters, mixed signal oscilloscopes and debug adapters. Red and black test leads with 4 mm banana plugs connect directly to multimeters, bench power supplies and other instruments with standard 4 mm inputs.

Designed for DC to 10 MHz measurements and well suited for I2C, I3C, UART, CAN bus and other digital signals.

A PCBite base plate and holders are required.

ULTRA-THIN PROFILE

SP10 probes, built for fine pitch.

The SP10 probe head is a bare, ultra-thin PCB with no plastic body around the contact point. Several probes fit side by side on fine-pitch components, for measurements on I²C, I³C, UART, CAN bus and other signals from DC to 10 MHz. The 2.54 mm (0.100 in) dual pin header accepts two cables at the same time, for simultaneous power and measurement.

NEEDLES

Every needle, spring-loaded.

The test needle is spring-loaded, providing a defined, consistent contact force on the pad. This keeps the connection stable throughout the measurement, even if the setup is bumped or exposed to vibration. When the tip wears, pull it out and insert a new one.

DUAL PIN-HEADER

Two connections at once.

The 2.54 mm (0.100 in) dual pin header accepts two cables at the same time. Power the PCB from a bench supply while monitoring the same point with a multimeter, connect analog and digital instruments simultaneously, or pass the signal through to another probe. One probe can support several parts of the measurement setup without being moved.

COMPATIBILITY

Connects to the instruments on your bench.

Standard 2.54 mm (0.100 in) jumper connectors, often called Dupont connectors, plug straight into any logic analyzer. Put one probe per line and one on ground, and decode I2C, I3C, SPI or UART while the board runs. The same connectors reach a programmer or debug adapter for SWD and JTAG.

OPEN MODULAR DESIGN

Open design, made to be modified.

The SP10 probe head is an open PCB design. Swap probe boards on the standard M4 thread, fit your own needle types or adapt the probe for a specialized measurement.

ANTI-SHAKE

Steady placement. Reliable contact.

The flexible arm and probe weight keep the spring-loaded needle partially compressed during measurement, maintaining contact even if the setup is disturbed. The arm also adds controlled resistance when positioning the needle on fine-pitch components, making precise placement easier even with a slightly unsteady hand.

MULTI-POINT MEASUREMENT

Multiple probes. Long measurements. No hands required.

Position several probes across the board and leave them in place for both quick measurements and long triggering sessions. The probes maintain contact throughout the measurement, enabling simultaneous multi-point measurements that are impractical with handheld probes.

Leave probes on I2C, SPI, UART or the TX and RX lines of a CAN transceiver, and watch the traffic on your logic analyzer while the code runs. One probe per line, one on ground, nothing to hold and nothing to solder.
